About Us

We’re ELC and TLC—a mother/daughter team from Texas with the same middle name. TLC has a 3-year-old daughter whose middle name is also Leighton. It was ELC’s grandmother’s (Nana) maiden name and, yes, that makes us proud of our English (or, as we like to refer to it, our Royal) heritage.

ELC is an over-60 wife, mother, mother-in-law, Grammy, and retired therapist. She lives in a small country town southwest of Fort Worth. She collects diet books and never leaves home without a little lipstick and earrings.

TLC is an over-30 Etsy, Instagram and Pinterest-addicted wife and Stay-at-Home Mama to Little Princess Leighton (LL), a precocious and perfect 4 1/2 year old, and Baby Elle (whose middle name is NOT Leighton...we pray that won't be a difficult thing for her!), a wild and crazy child born in March of 2016. TLC lives in a charming city northwest-ish of Dallas. She has a fashion merchandising degree (although she was a banker for seven years) and adores her bosses, her two PRECIOUS Angel Daughters. TLC drives ELC bonkers because TLC refuses to wear lipstick.

We began this blog in January of 2011 as a project to do together. Seemed like our lives were changing each day, week, month. We were looking for a way to stay connected in a fun, meaningful way.

If you have a few minutes, look back through 2011, 2012 and up until you're reading this for 2017. You'll see "Yummies" (these are TLC's) and "Yeehaws" (these are ELC's) sprinkled throughout our random thoughts. They're posts about people, books, foods, places, movies, recipes and products (makeup, beauty, etc.) we think are truly FABULOUS. There's also an occasional "Yumhaw." Yep. Something both of us love/loved equally. (Update: TLC decided in 2013 that "yumhaw" was just too weird of a "mash-up" word for her. Sadly, Yumhaws were officially retired. Sigh.)

Join us for some giggles as we pursue laughter, wisdom, and transformation (and the really important stuff like fashion, food, and tips to help us improve our lives). All with a touch of silliness/sassiness.

Thanks ever so much for stopping by...Y'all come back now, okay?
