not a duck

Well, okay. It is a duck. It's just not a real duck. It’s the only decoy left from the three My Sweet Hubby (MSH) put in our Big Tank years and years ago. See my post: Fake? On Tuesday, April 26, 2011.

I took this picture on May 11th. After we’d had a lot of rain and our tank was, for the first time in years, filling back up. As MSH and I walked to our gate this particular morning, I, once again, saw this duck and thought it was real. Sheesh. I never learn.

In fact, we've had rain something like twenty-three out of the past twenty-nine days. Our tank is continuously spilling over now. We've probably lost some catfish that have been forced overboard. That makes me sad. For the fish. Not for this gift of rain.

But there's been a high price for this rain: Lives. Families. Children. Young. Old. It's difficult to watch the news about the people who are now gone because of the massive flooding. It's overwhelming. Simply unimaginable.

Looking at our full tank, something I've wanted for such a long time, makes me feel guilty. I wish it didn't. It does.

May your weekend be full of love, laughter, and a few real ducks, Dear Friends Everywhere…STAY SAFE...
